The Chef Who Made Us Look Forward To Stepping Into The Kitchen
Known as the ‘macaron queen of India’, Pooja Dhingra, a pastry chef and entrepreneur, introduced a new vibe to the F&B scene with the opening of Le 15 Patisserie in Mumbai more than a decade ago. She tasted her first macaron in 2008 while studying in Paris, and never looked back. By 2014, she expanded to several outlets across Mumbai and employed a staff of 42.
Pooja Dhingra’s 2020 Power Move
In 2020, several businesses were severely affected by the lockdown, and it was no different for Dhingra. While her patisserie in South Mumbai’s Colaba recorded its highest sales the year before, the exorbitant rents forced her to put down its shutters in 2020. But quick to adapt, Dhingra began posting tutorials on her social media handles on Instagram and YouTube. While her team shifted the focus to online sales, she began working on an e-cookbook to support her team. She also launched a line of packaged foods as well as her own podcast, NoSugarCoat. In 2020, Dhingra left us in awe of her willingness to adapt in the face of adversity.
