All the members of BLACKPINK have such amazing skin and I kept wondering if they owe all this to the technological advancements, or are they just blessed with flawless skin. After a quick tour down the rabbit hole which is the internet, I’ve come to the conclusion that their skin is indeed the #NoFilterRequired type! Maybe they are born with it, but you know Koreans and their amazing beauty regimen; the products are truly magical. After going through multiple videos and blogs, there are two beauty products that stood out to me- essences and emulsion!
And today, we’re going to talk about everything you need to know about emulsion!
What Is Emulsion?
I know what you’re thinking, “Do we really need another skincare product?” Well, it all depends on whether it works in favour of your skin, or not. And before we reach that conclusion, let’s find out what emulsion is!
Emulsion is a super light-weight, water-based moisturizer that helps the other skincare products get absorbed easily into your skin. This non-sticky skincare product also helps retain the moisture levels of our skin and also prevents moisture loss. No, it doesn’t clog pores and is really good for everyone who is looking for a super hydrating skincare product.
If you’ve ever tried the famous 10-step Korean skincare regimen (seriously, who has the time?), you know that skincare is serious business to them! Emulsion is a hero product in the Korean skincare regimen as it helps other products get easily absorbed into the skin.
How To Use Emulsion?
Believe it or not, the emulsion has almost a similar effect on our skin as a moisturizer! But it doesn’t have a thick consistency like a moisturizer and in fact, you cannot use only the emulsion on your face.
As mentioned earlier, it helps other products seep better into the skin, and therefore, it is applied after a facial serum but before a moisturizer! This not only helps lock in the moisture but also keeps the skin looking supple and hydrated at all times.
– Emulsions suit all skin types but work best on oily skin. The oily state of the skin helps it get absorbed really nicely.
– If you have dry skin, make sure you use a hydration serum so that the emulsion can help lock in that moisture.
– If you have acne-prone skin, make sure you do a sample test on your skin before going all-in with it. If you see absolutely no (negative) change in your skin, that means that it is suiting you and definitely moisturizing your skin from within.
– If you have normal skin, an emulsion will work great on you. Just pair it up with Vitamin C or hyaluronic acid for the best results!
