The movie Veere Di Wedding released last week and has already created a buzz. The female star cast including Swara Bhasker, Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Shikha Talsania delivered power-packed performances. I recently watched the film and one scene that I knew would create a sensation was Swara Bhasker’s masturbating on the big screen. Did I spell that right? Because most of her trolls didn’t Google what the word masturbation actually is, especially the ones who went for an A-rated film with their grandmoms. Use autocorrect, Veere.
Hey @ReallySwara just watched #VeereDiWedding with my grandmother. We got embarrassed when that masturabation scene came on screen. as we came out of the theater my grandmother said ” I’m hindustan and i am ashamed of #VeereDiWedding

Dear Hindus, if you have any self respect or dignity left, PLEASE do not watch any movie that stars @ReallySwara, Kareena Kapoor, @humasqureshi Kalki Koechlin, Sonam Kapoor and all other placard wala B grade actresses. Hit them where it hurts.

Ashamed of self-pleasure? In a country where cases of men masturbating in public trains haven’t been questioned, are we really feeling embarrassed about a woman indulging herself? Movies like Mastizaade and Grand Masti have endorsed extra-marital affairs, objectification, and sexual assault, and they have been deemed funny. But sure, a woman pleasuring herself in the privacy of her home offended people.
Thankfully, not everyone felt ashamed and though the trolls were in abundance, Twitter did take a stand against popular opinion.
The ones who are complaining they can’t watch #veerediwedding with the family…um, you’re not supposed to!
Men have had their share of films made on male friendship. Did you take your family to watch Pyar ka Punchnama? Or The Hangover? I don’t think so.

All grandmother’s just supremely upset because they discovered after 60 years that masterbation was an option #VeereDiWedding

Swara Bhasker took being trolled in good spirit and laughed off the incident. Especially since multiple accounts claimed to have watched the film with their ‘grandmothers’.
This is getting out of hand! (no pun intended) 😋
Let me muster up some courage & point out that it’s NOT –
1. Musterbation
or
2. Masturabation
or
3. Mastrubation
or
3. Mastabate (thought phonetically correct)
.
Lets all take the night off from outrage and read on Masturbation pic.twitter.com/PecrqAHmvT— Akash Banerjee (@akashbanerjee) June 2, 2018
For some weird reasons, people who cant spell “Masturbation” are going to watch #VeereDiWedding with their Grandmothers and want answers from @ReallySwara pic.twitter.com/CAB1ab5b4O
