Coloured eyeliners are always the best things to lift up your mood, day, eyes, everything! But there are days when you definitely need a little something extra. To my absolute delight, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had beat me to the punch. She attended an event in a beautiful floral saree but what caught my eye was, well her eyes. At first glance, it looked like she had given cranberry eyes a whirl but when I got a closer look I was pleasantly surprised with this gorgeous mulled wine smokey eye.

Start with a mauve base eyeshadow going over your eyelid and your crease. Then take a darker berry/wine colour and concentrate the same on your lid and blend it well. Add a dark eyeshadow to the crease. Line your eyes with your favourite gel eyeliner and just smudge it out for a smokey effect. Add oodles of mascara and falsies for added effect.

When you’re recreating the look, try and keep the colour scheme you have chosen in mind and try and stick to lighter and darker shades in the same scheme.
You should ideally go muted on the lips, but that shouldn’t stop you from using a similar shade that matches your eyes.
Make sure your brows are groomed and filled in. These kinds of eye makeup looks tend to grab the attention and bring it to your eye area.
