Your pre-bridal facials and other beauty regime sessions may be scheduled months prior to your wedding and you yearn to have the best make-up and perfect look for your big day. But is your skin really ready to take on all that make-up and still feel healthy and clean from within? We have some easy, natural and sure shot ways to help your skin glow right before the wedding for all you brides-to-be.
1. Eat skin-friendly foods
Before applying anything on your face, get into a habit of eating healthy. Fill up your diet with skin-friendly and naturally hydrating and cooling food and drinks like coconut water, curd, watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes, and grapefruits.
2. Bye bye panda eyes!
You are burdened with the immense pressure of your wedding preparations and that leads to sleepless nights which result in those dreaded dark circles under your eyes. Now, you definitely don’t want them to spoil your big day. So you can’t miss out on good skin care habit. Always look for these essential elements in your under eye cream like Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil and Vitamin K to help lighten those under circles as well as deal with puffiness while hydrating your skin well.
3. Home made face packs for the win!
Stress often starts showing its effect on our skin in the form of an annoying breakout. Sweat not! Treat your acne problems the best way possible with this simple trick overnight. Grind a few mint leaves, make a smooth paste and apply it all over your face in the night. Wash off in the morning and see the magic.
4. Oats are not just for breakfast!
Did you know that oats help remove dark patches around your neck? We all know for a fact that we don’t pay enough attention to our neck as we are so busy pampering our face. In the process of doing that, your face and neck colour could vary. Try this hack – mix some oatmeal powder with either milk cream or curd or honey, scrub it on your neck area, and wash it off with cold water. You will see the difference yourself!
5. Potato juice – the age-old remedy.
We all have heard this from our grannies and we don’t blame them as it works extremely well as a natural skin lightener. All you need to do is just rub the potato juice all over your face and neck area every day for at least 10 minutes before you take the shower. For better results, you can also try squeezing in a bit of lemon in it.
6. Heard of banana fruit masks?
You might think a banana mask would get sticky and yucky, but trust us it will brighten your skin tone in no time. Mix it with olive oil and apply it all over your face and keep it on for some time, you will be shocked to see the results.
7. Do away with excess oil
Considering the current weather you’re bound to have oily skin, especially when you are heading out thanks to the pollution your skin will be exposed to. Keep blotting papers handy as it will help keep your face shine free.
8. Apply SPF on your lips too.
We know your make-up artist will do her best to prime your lips before applying the lipstick, but you may want your lips to feel healthy from within and hence we strongly suggest an SPF for your lips too. A good lip balm with SPF 30 will keep your lips hydrated and unchapped.
9. Eight-hours of sleep is a must!
No beauty treatments will work on the skin unless you have eight hours of sleep every night after an entire day of planning and executing your wedding preparations. Hence, make sure you’re sleeping well.
