“I drink wine and I know things.” – If you know where this dialogue is from, we know you are a true Game of Thrones fan! And now that season 7 is over, you might have to wait for another two years to know what the show has in store for you. But, fret not ladies, we bring to you a list of TV shows to help you quench your thirst for all things gore and twisty, while you wait for GoT season 8 to hit you like a lightning storm!
1. House Of Cards
This political drama packed with plotting, scheming and struggles to secure political power is definitely going to give you a dose of GoT nostalgia. In our opinion, Cersei, Littlefinger and Varys would’ve fit just right in, had the show been set in the same time as GoT. Don’t you think?
How about you order House of Cards Season 1 and 2 (Rs 2,495) and get watching it, already!
2. Outlander
Outlander is the tale of Claire Randall, who is a married combat nurse in 1945, transported back in the time of the Scottish rebellion in 1743. The story is woven with themes of war, passionate romance, history and science fiction. Trust us, once you start watching it, you won’t be able to stop!
3. Big Little Lies
This Emmy nominated series is a story of three not-so-perfect mothers of first graders and believe us, it is a MUST watch. The catch here is that there’s a mysterious murder revolving around the lives of these women. How? What? When? Well, watch the show to find out. With Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz in lead roles, this one will leave you with no nails left to bite!
If you love reading books, we’d suggest you buy Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. (Rs 544)
4. Westworld
This TV show will have you hooked to your screens. It’s a story of a futuristic theme park, where people visit to watch Westworld androids, only to soon discover that something has gone terribly wrong. This enthralling drama is a must watch. So don’t wait and binge watch this one!
5. The Vikings
While you wait for the invasion of the White Walkers, and for Jon and the Dragon Queen to return in full fury, this show could be your ultimate source of entertainment. Inspired by the medieval age Vikings, this show features the adventures of a band of Norsemen, a lot of powerful women, and enough sword fights to give you a taste of GoT.
6. The Handmaid’s Tale
Based on the bestselling Margaret Atwood book, this one is way darker and disturbing than Game Of Thrones. It is set in the future where women are forbidden to read or write and their worth is merely determined by how fertile their womb is.
We all like to binge eat while binge watching, right? Buy Doritos Nacho Cheese (Rs 100) along with a Doritos Mild Salsa (Rs 445) and treat yourself!
7. The White Queen
This drama series, set in England’s 15th century showcases the Yorks Vs. Lancasters vying for the throne. George RR Martin was inspired by the White Queen’s War of the Roses, so we’re talking business when we say that this show is closest to GoT.
So are you ready for Netflix and chill?
