So you’ve got it all figured out- the perfect lehenga, gorgeous jewellery, the best venue and even the backdrop for your wedding photos. But, the last thing we think about when planning our wedding is the cake. More often than not, we end up settling for a multi tier, classic white buttercream with a floral design. But if you’re the one who’d want your wedding cake to be absolutely outstanding then you need to know about Delhi based bakery The Hot Pink Cake Studio, founded by Ipshita Chakladar and Sharmila Basu.
Ipshita is an alumnus of IHM Bangalore who started her career with the Taj Group of Hotels but switched to baking in January 2010 and founded The Hot Pink Cake Studio in Shahpur Jat, Delhi. She specializes in cakes which are preservative free and everything is made in-house, using premium chocolate.

For this wedding season, Ipshita wants to do something out of the box. She is creating designs with Indian motifs that feature brides, baraats and even the bedroom(wink).
As far as the inspiration is concerned, Ipshita revealed, “I believe in the concept that ‘less is more’. I derive inspiration from anything beautiful- garments, textiles, crockery, jewellery, nature just about anything.”
Some of their best sellers are chocolate raspberry mud cake, banoffee, tiramisu and the decadent chocolate whiskey cake. We can’t wait to try, can you?
