I know you are probably judging this story by the title already, but wait a second. This is what actually happened.
I had been with this boy for three years and things were, well, fine. They weren’t great, they weren’t terrible, they were just okay. After three years, I wasn’t expecting fireworks in my love life but it kind of felt tame to know we (almost) knew everything about each other. All our ‘first times’ were done, he knew exactly what to say when I got angry and I knew exactly what not to say when he got mad at me. There was nothing left to figure out. So I decided it was time we tried something new in the bedroom department. And he, of course, was up for it.
I don’t know where I got this idea from, maybe I always wanted to try it out, but I suggested we roleplay the sex scene in Titanic, the one in the car, remember? Of course you do!
The thing was, both of us lived with our parents so this thought remained just a thought for the next couple of months. It was only when my parents had gone for a vacation, and he was staying with me for five days, that we decided we could finally try it out.
My father’s car was parked in the compound of the house so we had the basic props. Now I wanted to do it properly so both of us stayed up till 3 AM so that it was cold enough for us to leave our hand imprints on the glass window.
But let me tell you something, it’s not easy staying up till 3 AM unless you are partying or studying and we were doing neither. We spent around two hours watching MasterChef Australia, for some strange reason, and were running out of enthusiasm by the time it was midnight.
“You’re sure you want to do this?” he asked, stifling a yawn.
“Yes, of course! Why would you even ask that?” I replied. I guess I feared that if we couldn’t pull even this one exciting thing off, it would really be the end of our honeymoon period. And I couldn’t quite come to terms with that thought.
So we stayed up. And by the time our mobile clocks struck 3, our eyes were red and minds blank. And I was almost on the verge of giving up when he suddenly got up, turned in a dramatic manner to look at me and picked me up in his arms.
He carried me out to the car with his lips on my mouth and when he lay me on the backseat, he said, “I know we were taking a cue from the Titanic and all but I thought it couldn’t hurt to add a bit of our own drama.”
I just couldn’t wipe the smile off my face for the rest of the night. Even though the car sex was pretty awkward and we forgot to leave our imprints on the glass window (because it never really got that that cold), I’ve never quite had a night like that.
Next week, we’ve decided to do a scene from Fifty Shades Of Grey. I’ll let you all know how that one goes!
