We cannot have a list of legendary proposals without making the King of Romance, Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan’s story, a part of it. They both met at a party when SRK was only 18 and as they say rest is history. Their love story, was in a typical fashion, completely filmy. Gauri’s parents, who were Hindu Brahmin, were against the relationship and did not agree to let Gauri get married to somebody from another religion who was a struggling actor. Eventually, after a long fight, they did manage to convince her parents. This is what SRK said about his proposal on The Anupam Kher Show – ‘I had a Fiat back then and I was dropping her home. That is when I asked her if she will marry me and went off, I didn’t even wait for her to say ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ She must have said a ‘yes’ only, because then we were married off.’ True love always wins!
2. Gloria Got Her Fairy Tale
Sofia Vergara, our very own Gloria from Modern Family, has a fairytale love story with Joe Manganiello. Sofia was just out of a relationship and wanted to be single for a while so Joe had to really convince his celebrity crush to give him a chance and go on a date with him. Joe, a true romantic, had an amazing proposal planned for Sofia. On the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, he surprised Sofia and popped the question on Christmas Eve. And the true romantic that he is, he also made a book containing all their texts and pictures of places that meant something to both of them for Sofia on the first anniversary of their first date. Talk about being totally drool worthy!
3. Love In A Hopeless Place
Another love story that is truly heart touching is the one of this Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Cameron who proposed to his girlfriend Melissa at the Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. They met under truly unfortunate circumstances, when she was stabbed by an ex boyfriend almost 30 times in the face, back and arms. Once they reconnected after her surgery, Cameron helped her get through the trial and soon they fell in love. With a proposal that left everyone around in tears, it truly goes to show that after darkness comes light.

Who says you cannot be romantic in a long distance relationship? Jess and Nick have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years now with him living in Toronto and her being based out of Los Angeles.
