For some reason, even the sound of the word ‘Masturbate’ is not acceptable to certain people in our society. Even so, it is a completely natural urge and a natural process, nothing to be ashamed of. We firmly believe that girls should be well informed about their sexual needs and not be intimidated by all the things people do and do not tell them about. So here are a few things no one tells you about masturbation…
1. It is as normal for a girl to masturbate, as it is for a guy.
In fact, it has nothing to do with gender. Unfortunately, many women grow up to believe that masturbation is something to be ashamed about. Well, it is certainly not, girls! So never apologize for something that’s only natural.
2. It does not just involve poking yourself down there (i.e. it’s not about thinking of your finger as a penis)
There is more to it than that. There are specific techniques that can help you achieve your pleasure point and though they may differ from woman to woman, every woman should experiment to discover what works best for her.
3. Masturbating regularly does NOT mean that you will not enjoy sex with the actual person
If anything, it makes you more comfortable with your body and you are able to explore your pleasure points. This leads to a better sexual experience!
4. If you have a boyfriend and you masturbate, that does not make you a cheater.
Just because you masturbate, it does not mean that your boyfriend is unable to satisfy you or that he should feel threatened. This is something you are free to do for your own pleasure and you should never feel guilty about it. Also, we’re pretty sure your boyfriend does it too.
5. Women take longer than men to masturbate
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, the first few times that you try, you may not orgasm at all because you need to explore your body and figure out what gives your pleasure and what doesn’t.
6. Masturbation does not make you lose your virginity!
You have to know that virginity is a complicated thing. A virgin is a person who has never had sexual intercourse. Fingering and masturbation might be sexual in nature but cannot be considered as an equivalent.
7. It won’t widen your vagina
Nope. It really doesn’t. Your vagina may expand upon penetration, but it is elastic enough and hence, comes back to its original form once you are done.
8. Sometimes, while you are at it, unexpected faces may pop inside your head. That’s quite all right.
As you near the climax, sometimes unexpected faces and thoughts pop inside your head. This is normal and does not mean that you are subconsciously in love with that person or something… So relax. (Unless of course there’s this one person you keep fantasizing about, in which case you may want to think a lil’ harder if you have feelings for him/ her.)
9. Masturbation actually helps prevent Urinary Tract Infections and cervical infections.
Research has proven that masturbation can actually prevent UTIs and cervical infections and is, therefore, actually good for your health. It helps cervical fluids filled with bacteria to be flushed out and cleared from your system.
10. You can do it as frequently as you like
Some women do it twice a week and some do it once a day. It is totally your call. Doing it more frequently has no negative effect on your sexuality or your body!
11. You should pee after masturbating
Just like you should after sex. It helps flush out any bacteria that may have entered your vagina through your fingers…or anything else you choose to use. Wash your lady parts thoroughly after you are done with the act.
