Getting hot and dirty between the sheets is awesome, but an infection down there is really not! There are a few necessary steps everyone must follow when it comes to keeping your body parts clean since sex can be a messy affair (hey, the messier the better right?!). Here are some must-follow hygiene tips for before and after sex for proper health and hotter sex!
1. Shower Before Bed
This may not always be possible, but a quick shower before foreplay can help you feel fresh. Feeling fresh can help build your confidence and you’ll enjoy yourself so much more.
2. No Sweaty Undies, Please
Wearing fresh and clean underwear is a given for both men and women. Wearing the same undies for long stretches of time can become a breeding ground for bacteria and can cause you both to spread infections to one another.
3. Always Pee Before And After
This will help prevent bacteria from being pushed up towards the kidneys or anywhere else and causing infections. By peeing you’re flushing it all out. Girls, not peeing right after sex can also increase your risk of getting a UTI.
4. Wash Your Hands
Washing your hands before and after sex is important for both of you. You have no idea how many different kinds of germs you carry around on your hands and nails – just imagine where they spread when you touch each other in sensitive places!
5. Clean Up
Girls, it’s so important to clean your lady parts after sex. Use warm water or even a washcloth to clean in the direction from the vagina to the anus. Doing it the other way round can carry bacteria from the rectum to the vagina.
6. Don’t Ignore Nature’s Call
Have you ever felt the urge to pee at a totally wrong time? Even if things are getting super hot and you really don’t want to interrupt an awesome foreplay session, if you gotta pee you better do it. Holding it in can help bacteria spread, especially during sex. This applies to both men and women.
