Okay, we’ve given up trying to wrap our head around contouring, love strobing for being so much less complicated, but now there’s another term in the mix that’s all about that flawless finish. Baking! Yes, “baking” your makeup is even simpler and is one routine that even a makeup newbie can perfect. It’s all about giving you a flawless finish without any creases and has quickly turned into a rage amongst celeb makeup artists. Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with an oven, or applying heat to your face either.
The only extra thing you need is translucent powder (we like Faces Mineral Loose Powder). Here’s how you can bake your makeup…
Step 1: Apply your base like you usually would (foundation, concealer)
Step 2: Apply a creamy concealer under your eye in a triangle extending upwards towards your temple at the side. Blend it fully into your skin with a sponge.
Step 3: Apply a generous layer of translucent powder on top of the blended concealer. Let it sit like that for 10 minutes. (You can apply your eyeliner and lipstick while you wait).
Step 4: After 10 minutes, use a big blush brush to blend the powder in quick, sweeping motions.
The result is a flawless face minus the appearance of creases, pores and fine lines. You can also watch this video to see how it’s done.
Basically how it works is that as you let your powder sit, your skin’s natural heat works with it to “bake” or melt the concealer, helping it fill in any lines and pores. You don’t have to worry about that unattractive creasing every time you try to cover up those under eye circles now.
Go on and try it. Kim K is proof that it really does work!
